Within
the BHASVIC enrichment programme Netball has continued
to have a strong following. Over the past 5 years
we have successfully fielded two teams, with at times enough
squad members to field a third.
Not only have we had a strong commitment from the girls involved,
but additionally we have had much success, regularly being
winners or runners up in competitions.
How much
Netball is played?
Through the combined commitment of the staff and squad members
we are able to enter many competitions. Both teams successfully
enter the Sussex leagues and County Cups. Additionally the
first team take part in the South-East British Colleges League
and Cup, the Nationals Netball tournament and British Colleges
Netball tournament.
Successes
As stated above we have had strong successes throughout the
past years in both teams, regularly winning our local leagues.
In the 2009/10 season the First Team won the Division 1 league
and our 2nd Team came runners up of the Division 2 league.
In the past we have been Sussex Cup Champions and have also
come runners up in the National Netball Tournament.
Players and Club Contacts
We are committed to involving all that are interested in
Netball as well as striving towards excellence. Throughout
the past five years we have had and continue to have
players excelling within the Sport. A number of players
have played at Regional and National League level and
many have gone on to play at a very high level at University.
A lot of girls we have representing us or have represented
us in the past at BHASVIC are also linked with local
clubs such as Brighton Netball Club, and CD Phoenix.
Additionally due to staff involvement in teams who play
in the local BMW leagues this has enabled students of
varying levels to gain involvement in playing in clubs
outside of the college.
BHASVIC Netball aims to provide
support to all players and ensure that their experience is
one that is enjoyable.
