National best in Photography

BHASVIC students have made the College top in the country for Photography.

Three students were in the top 10 for their performance in the EDEXCEL A level Photography exam in 2006.
Photography is part of the Visual Arts Department, which also includes courses in Art and in Textiles.
All three subjects had 100% pass rates at AS and A level.

2006 brought great results, with a 98% pass rate for A level, 90% for AS level and 97% for Advanced Vocational subjects. 52% of A level grades were at A or B. Our GCSE students achieved a grade A to C for 71% of their entries, a great success in view of the fact that nearly all were retaking these subjects.

Five of our students’ A level results were among the best in the country. There was a 100% pass rate in 22 A level and 13 AS subjects: 14 students gained 4 A grades at A level, and 40 gained three A grades.
