Yet again, BHASVIC students have achieved excellent results at A level.  754 students sat A level examinations in June 2010, with an outstanding pass rate of 98%. 59.5% of all grades were at A*, A and B grades.

199 A* grades were obtained at A level (10% of A level entries at BHASVIC). 100 students gained at least 3 A grades at A level, 17 of whom achieved 4 A grades. Two students achieved 4 A* grades, 16 students achieved 3 A* grades and a further 25 students 2  A* grades at A level. Many will be reaping the rewards of their success as they move on to top universities in September.

Students taking AS levels in 2010 also achieved excellent results.  The overall AS level pass rate was 92.4%. 1327 students took 1 or more AS levels at BHASVIC this summer.  10 students achieved 5 A grades at AS level and 45 students achieved 4 or more A grades at AS level.

BHASVIC prides itself on being ‘open access’ – prospective students can study A levels here if they have achieved 5 or more grade Cs or above at GCSE.

Chris Thomson, BHASVIC’s Principal, praised the outstanding achievements of the students. “Yet again, BHASVIC students have achieved outstanding results and I would like to congratulate everyone involved: schools, parents and above all our excellent staff and students.”

They include ‘Brighton Sound City’ which explores the local music scene, ‘More for Less’, a Gok Wan style make-over show, and ‘Emotional Bankruptcy’, which explores the idea of emotions as a taxable commodity.
