What will I study?
Sport isn't just about competing, it is about developing a knowledge of the impact sport can have on health, well-being and the human body. You will study the academic and vocational application of understanding and knowledge in diverse topics such as sport psychology, biomechanics, physiology, training and essential research methods and data analysis. Learning is partly through university laboratory visits and vocational specialist guest speakers. Whilst studying Sport and Exercise Science BTEC you will learn a range of skills that will help you in your future career, for example, teamwork, resilience, competitive spirit, social, communication and analytical skills.
Is this course right for me?
These are academically demanding and applied courses suiting analytical students with a strong science understanding. You must be a committed and independent learner with the personal management skills to meet coursework deadlines. Learning and assessment is varied to parallel workplace and university style demands, with some external examination and coursework assessment. You will receive excellent staff support for achieving excellent results, while enriching your study skills and personal development.
Sport and Exercise Science lends itself to a range of careers in sports and fitness as well as other industries, for example, nutritionist, physiotherapy and chiropractic practice.
