Women’s Football

Programme Overview:

The women's football performance programme is one which has grown over the past 5 years with squad numbers reaching over 20 this year as our growing reputation brings in talented female footballers from across the county.  Every week we offer a high quality training session, strength and conditioning, a match analysis session and competitive fixtures; which include playing in the AoC Sport South East League and National Cup.  As well as these, the team also competes in the Sussex Schools FA County Cup and the annual AoC Sport South East Regional Tournament held in Southampton.

Notable Highlights from Recent Years:

The AoC Sport National Cup has seen BHASVIC ladies football placed on the map!  In two consecutive seasons (2016/17 and 2017/18), the girls reached the prestigious National Cup Final, with the latter year being played at the fantastic Bescot Stadium home to League 1 side Walsall FC.  Alongside this, we had our first international player with Nina Wilson - the BHASVIC ladies captain - breaking through and representing England Colleges, gaining 3 caps in recent seasons.

Season 2021/22 Highlights:

Our women's football team enjoyed a stellar season, culminating in brilliant success in the Sussex Schools FA County Cup final when they lifted the trophy having overcome Chichester by 2 goals to 1!  Another fantastic achievement ensued when they reached the last 4 of the National Cup out of which 256 teams that started in the competition, scoring 44 goals and only conceding 6 across 5 games.  The girls finished 3rd place in the AoC Sport South East League, with just a 3 point difference between themselves and the top team!  They also won the AoC Sport South East Regional Tournament to go on and compete at the AoC Sport National Championships in Nottingham, winning a third of their games there!  Overall, a brilliant season for the girls and the future of women's football at BHASVIC is looking bright!
