High Jump Success - Harry Baker

BHASVIC BTEC Sport and Exercise Science student Harry Baker (formerly St Paul’s Catholic School) celebrated the formal signing of his contract to attend Marquette University in the USA from September. The presentation was attended by Harry’s athletic coach, club chairman, recruitment company, family and friends. Harry is a rising star in the high jump world having recently cleared 2.06m he is currently ranked 21st nationally and fifth at under 20 level. Harry’s ambition at Marquette university is: ”to work hard .. If America goes well, then I will push for the Commonwealth Games in 2022.” BTEC Course leader Lindsay Taverner at BHASVIC, praised Harry’s dedication and high assessment standards throughout the Extended Diploma Sport Exercise Science course. Harry gained distinctions in all 18 units which is excellent preparation for his academic studies in the States.
