Programme Overview:

At present, we have 24 players in the BHASVIC Elite Basketball Programme.  They are divided into 2 teams, with the first team competing in the ABL (Academy Basketball League) and the second team entered in to the AoC South East Regional League.

The ABL is an invitation only competition which compromises of 52 teams split into six conferences.  Our first team partakes in the Southern Conference, against 8 other teams which are all of high quality, meaning we compete against some of the best basketball academies and players in the country with a total of 16 league games (8 home and 8 away) per season.

The second team’s league consists of teams from across the South East.  Their season consists of 12 fixtures (6 home and 6 away) plus the AoC National Knockout Cup fixtures and the AoC Regional Tournament for the South East which is held annually in Southampton.

Notable Highlights from Recent Years:

In the 2019/20 season, our first team had several close encounters with some of the big teams in the EABL.  A few memorable games from EABL fixtures were against well drilled sides like CoLa and Oakland Wolves where we narrowly missed out on a win, both by around only 10 points.

Additionally, we entered a 3v3 tournament in the 2019/20 season held in Ipswich.  We placed 3rd, narrowly missing out on qualifying for the 3v3 Finals held in Manchester.  The BHASVIC second team also had a successful year, winning the majority of their games and placing third in the AoC South East Regional Tournament.

Season 2021/22 Highlights:

Our first team enjoyed some good wins this season against very high-ranking basketball academies, finishing 2 places below the play-off spots and beating teams throughout the season who eventually ended up in these places.  Our second team enjoyed a cup run in the AoC National Knockout Cup, reaching the last 64 of the 256 team competition.  They also played some great games in the league and finished with the second highest amount of points scored, as well as finishing strongly at the AoC South East Regional Tournament with convincing wins in their last 2 games!
