Taster Days for Year 10
Welcome to our BHASVIC Taster Day webpage!
BHASVIC Taster Days are a great way for young people to explore their progression options after GCSEs and experience our college for the day. Choosing subjects for sixth form study is an exciting prospect and our Taster Days are designed to help students refine and formulate their ideas.
Attendance at Taster Day is not compulsory for application to BHASVIC, and applicants who did not attend a Taster Day are not disadvantaged in any way with a BHASVIC application. However, the day is a great way to help young people with their decisions about where to apply.
Similarly, the subjects students ‘taste’ on this day are designed for just this purpose, to give a little insight and experience of the subject but also the type of study at Level 3, and do not limit application options in any way.
Taster Day 2020 - Friday 3 July 2020 - cancelled
Update 31st March 2020 - Unfortunately, due to current circumstances, uncertainty about the summer term and the knock on implications of these factors, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Year 10 Taster Day this summer.
I want to reassure you that the Year 10 Taster Day does not impact whatsoever on any future application you make to the college. We offer Year 10 Taster Days to support students in their subject choices and to get a ‘feel’ for BHASVIC to help them decide whether to make an application to us.
Open Evenings: We fully expect Open Evenings to run in November 2020 as normal, and these are a great opportunity to help inform your decisions about whether to apply to the college and which subjects you choose. We look forward to seeing you then!
Taster Day 2021 - Late June/ Early July 2021
This Taster Day is for students who are currently in Year 9 at secondary school only, or for individual students who will have completed GCSE study in summer 2022 and would be starting sixth form study in September 2022.
Applications for this day will not be live until Spring 2021. Please start to monitor this page from after Spring Half Term 2021, which will be the approximate time when the application form will go live.
