Adithi Through to Young Orator Grand Final
Congratulations to BHASVIC Medics student Adithi Arun Prasath, who has been selected as one of the top 12 finalists in the Gresham College Young Orator of the Year 2026 competition.
This prestigious national competition challenges students to communicate complex ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively through a five-minute recorded presentation on a set topic. Adithi chose to explore the question, “Do protests do more harm than good in today’s society?” Drawing on her involvement in the BHASVIC Medical Careers Pathway, she focused on doctors’ strikes as the basis of her argument.
As a finalist, Adithi has been invited to London in June to take part in a presentation skills workshop, where she will have the opportunity to engage with leading researchers. She will then go on to present her work at the grand final in July to a panel of Gresham College academics.
The competition offers a substantial cash prize for the winner, and we wish Adithi every success as she progresses to the final stage.
Adithi commented, "I’ve really enjoyed exploring a complex issue from different perspectives and developing my public speaking skills as well as building my confidence through the process, and I’m very grateful for this wonderful opportunity that BHASVIC has provided me "
