Dr. Adrian Massey Visits BHASVIC

BHASVIC welcomed Dr Adrian Massey, Medical Director at Health Partners and BHASVIC parent, for an inspiring and highly thought-provoking session with students. Dr Massey explored the fascinating intersections of medicine, Economics, and the history of healthcare, prompting students to consider the balance between medical progress and patient well-being. His insights offered a fresh perspective on how historical trends and economic factors shape healthcare today. The event was a valuable opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of medicine beyond the classroom and reflect on its broader societal impact.
Dr Massey qualified in 1997, has been a Consultant Occupational Physician since 2007, and a Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FFOM) since 2014. He has been the lead medical adviser to a wide range of organisations spanning the public and private sectors. His book, Sick Note Britain, an account of the problems with current social policy relating to health and work, was published in February 2019.
