Moving On Day Postponed
Moving On Day, scheduled for Thursday 25 June, is now POSTPONED.
In light of the revised red weather warning for extreme heat on Thursday, 25 June, we have decided to postpone Moving On Day. Whilst we had already made adaptations to the day to reduce the risks, we have been monitoring the temperature of rooms in college today and many are exceeding 30°C. Not only is it an unpleasant experience to be in a full class at this temperature, from a Health and Safety perspective it is potentially dangerous for students and staff and the move to a red warning covering Brighton and Hove underlines this.
We are also aware that warnings against travel made this increasingly difficult for students to get to us and most secondary schools in the city are closed tomorrow.
We think Moving On Day is a really great part of the student experience as they progress to BHASVIC and we would like to try and run it if we can. We are looking at alternative dates and will be in touch with updated news imminently. If people are unable to make the revised date (which will be circulated in due course) please be assured this will not jeopardise your place at BHASVIC. Further instructions will follow before the weekend.
