BHASVIC Students Thrive in Another Year of Exceptional Results

As the fourth largest A Level centre in the country, BHASVIC has again maintained its exceptional standards this year, with a 99% A Level pass rate across 36 subjects, and with a 99% pass rate for BTEC and vocational subjects. Over two-thirds of A Level outcomes received an A* to B grade. These results remain well above national averages and reinforce BHASVIC's position as one of the top-performing colleges in the country, while remaining proudly non-selective and serving a large and diverse student community.
Many students will progress to university, with the vast majority securing places at their first-choice institution. This year, 62 students received an offer to study medicine, veterinary or dentistry and 49 students received offers to Oxford and Cambridge, maintaining BHASVIC's reputation as one of the leading providers of Oxbridge entrants globally. Alongside academic success, students benefit from extensive opportunities to develop employability skills and gain work experience through the college's dedicated Employability and Enterprise specialist Tutorial pathway programme. An increasing number of students are also progressing into apprenticeships and employment, demonstrating their readiness to apply their learning in the workplace and continue down a path that suits their individual preferences the most. Success takes many forms, and every student's journey deserves recognition and celebration. Students who come to BHASVIC leave with so much more than just qualifications.
As a sixth form college welcoming students from more than 60 local schools, BHASVIC provides a supportive and inclusive environment in which young people can thrive. A rich programme of extracurricular activities allows students to pursue their interests beyond the classroom while building the confidence, friendships and sense of belonging that underpin successful learning. The college is particularly proud of the progress made by its students, many of whom exceed expectations and achieve outcomes that open doors to exciting opportunities, regardless of their background.
Principal William Baldwin said:
"I would like to congratulate all our students on their remarkable achievements and thank all of our staff for their unwavering dedication and support year-on-year. Today's results reflect what makes BHASVIC such a special learning community.
Our teachers are experts in their subjects who inspire curiosity, encourage independent thinking and go above and beyond to help students realise their potential. Combined with the outstanding support provided by our pastoral and additional learning support teams, this creates an environment where every student has the opportunity to flourish.
I’m always impressed by the attitude our students bring to college each day. Their curiosity, determination and willingness to support one another make BHASVIC a vibrant and welcoming community. One of our core aims is to help students become confident, independent thinkers who know how to navigate challenges. These qualities serve them well in examinations, but more importantly, they prepare them for success long after they leave college.
I would like to thank our partner schools for the foundations they provide, and our parents and carers for their continued encouragement and support. Finally, I’d like to remind our students that your results are only one part of your story. No one is handing out certificates for A* in kindness and compassion, but these qualities matter just as much as academic achievement. We are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved and look forward to seeing the positive impact you make in the future. Congratulations, and good luck with your next steps."
The college is providing its usual post-results support and guidance for students. Anyone seeking advice should visit the exams results services section of the website.
