SSFA U19 County Cup Champions 2026

Yesterday, we were proud to see our Women’s Football Academy crowned Sussex Schools FA U19 County Cup champions, following an excellent 3–0 victory in the final. The triumph marks the fifth time in seven years that the academy has lifted the prestigious trophy.

In a commanding performance, the team rose to the occasion in the final, with Holly Macleod delivering a standout display to earn Player of the Match honours.

The journey to the title showcased the squad’s depth and quality throughout the competition. The academy faced an unusual quarter-final clash against another BHASVIC side, before progressing to the semi-finals, where they recorded an emphatic 11–0 away win at Thomas Bennett. That result set up a much-anticipated local derby against Worthing College in the final, where BHASVIC were victorious.

Reflecting on the season, academy manager and coach Joe McTiffen praised his players’ commitment and achievements:

It has been a fantastic season for the girls, and this is nothing less than they deserve. Their commitment throughout the season has been excellent, and they are now reaping the rewards. To achieve the league and cup double is an amazing accomplishment, and I am delighted to work with such a talented group of players.

This latest success caps off a remarkable campaign for the Women’s Football Academy, who have secured multiple accolades this season:

  • Sussex County Champions (Sussex Schools FA U19 County Cup)
  • AoC South East Regional Champions (AoC Sport Regional Championships)
  • AoC Tier 1 League Champions (AoC Sport Regional League)
  • Top four finish nationally (AoC Sport National Championships)

The county cup final marks the final match of the season for the squad. The academy now bids farewell to its second-year players, who leave behind an outstanding legacy of achievement. All at BHASVIC wish them every success in their future endeavours.
