Sustainability Lecture by Sussex Professor
Sustainability Lecture by Sussex Professor
Sustainability and International Development Professor at the University of Sussex, David Ockwell, visited BHASVIC this week to engage students about this modern and culturally relevant topic. In addition to lecturing at university, David also advises the United Nations and governments across the world on climate change policy.
In his talk to students, David encouraged the consideration of what sustainable development is and what this means to different people in the real world. He also presented the many routes to sustainable development and the power dynamics which mean some 'stick' and some don't.
Students from a range of backgrounds attended the talk, including those who study subjects such as sociology, politics, and history. David illustrated that, while not obvious, there are many links to sustainability within those subjects.
We would like to thank David for volunteering his time to visit us this week.
