Applications for September 2027 Entry
We recommend that all applicants attend one of our Open Evenings on 11 and 12 November before applying, as this will help you make more informed decisions on your course choices.
Our priority application deadline for September 2027 entry is Friday 4th December 2026. All applications received by the priority deadline will be processed for interview.
Please contact admissions@bhasvic.ac.uk if you have a query regarding your application.

Please ensure you have thoroughly checked for spelling errors before submitting.
We advise that applications are completed with a Parent/Carer present to ensure accuracy of information provided.

Should I use a school/student email for the "Students' Email Address" field?
No. School/student email addresses have filters on them that can stop some of our emails from reaching you. It's important that you use a personal email so that we can reach you with important information.
Do I need to provide two next-of-kin contact details?
Yes. If you don't have a second Parent or Carer, you can add the details of another relative.
What grades do I need to provide? I don't have my Year 11 mock grades yet.
Please provide the latest predicted grades or your most recent mock grades. These can be from Year 10, provided you haven't received any more recent grades.
One of my GCSE subjects isn't listed; what do I select?
Please select "Other - Specify at Interview", which is at the bottom of the drop-down menu on the Qualifications Tab.
I can't see the course I want to study on the application form. What should I do?
The Application and Games Development (Computing) AAQ and the I.T. (Cybersecurity & Web Development) AAQ are no longer running in September 2027 due to a last-minute change by the exam board. Please see the new Digital, Data & Cyber Security V Level course page for further information, or select a new programme of study.
How do I know if I receive free school meals?
You can ask your Parent/Carer and they will know. Most students who receive free school meals have money topped up on their account every day, which is verified using a biometric scan or some kind of ID card tap or swipe system. Free School Meals do not include money that is provided by parents in cash or on a debit/credit card, nor does it include packed lunches brought from home.
Will I get an interview if I'm not free on 16 or 17 December for an interview?
Every applicant who applies before the deadline of Friday 4 December 2026 will receive an invitation for an interview. If you mark that you are unable to make these dates on your application form, we will invite you to an interview in the new year. This does not put you at a disadvantage to other applicants.
Is an EHCP the same as an IHCP/IHP?
No. An EHCP is a legally binding document that outlines a young person's special educational, health, and social care needs up to the age of 25. An IHCP (Individual Healthcare Plan, also called an IHP) is a non-statutory school plan managed by the school to handle ongoing medical or health conditions.
I submitted my application form after the deadline. Will I get an interview or a place at BHASVIC?
Applications received after the deadline will be added to the non-priority waiting list. It is unlikely that applications on this list will receive an interview or an offer of a place.
Offers, Places & Applying to BHASVIC
Is getting into BHASVIC difficult? Will I get a place?
No, it’s not difficult to get into BHASVIC. The best thing to do is to put in your application and follow BHASVIC’s application process. Without applying, you can’t get a place. BHASVIC isn’t a selective college, and your offer for a place isn’t selected based on your predicted grades. However, you will have to meet the entry requirements for both your study programme and your individual courses in order to study at BHASVIC.
Applicants who live in the ‘B&H’ catchment area (postcodes starting with BN1, BN2, BN3, BN41, BN42 & BN45) will get a conditional offer after interviewing. Applicants who live in the ‘Sussex’ catchment area aren’t guaranteed a place just by applying, but many students in this catchment do get offers and accept their place.
Do I need to get my application form in early? Does this put me higher on the list?
Submitting an application form early does not improve your position over other applicants. We don't hold a ranking system that places applicants higher in any capacity based on the time at which they submit the application form prior to the deadline. We would much rather you take your time to submit your application form to ensure that the information you provide is correct.
Is there anything I can do to improve my chances of receiving an offer?
We require applicants to engage and communicate with us when necessary throughout the application process. The importance of checking emails, attending invitational appointments and events, and communicating with us is essential for keeping an offer. As we are a non-selective college, we don't prioritise applications based on merits to stand out over other applicants.
Do I need to know exactly what I want to do at college before applying?
It is helpful to know what subjects you want to study at college, but there will be opportunities to request a course change throughout the year. Whilst students can request to change their courses throughout the application process, the later this request is submitted, the less likely we can accommodate this change. Priority is given to those who don't change courses, and then in date order of when we receive requests. We can never guarantee a course change at any point in the application process, but there is a better chance of accommodating the change the earlier we receive it.
BHASVIC Interviews
When are BHASVIC Interviews?
We host a large number of interviews on 16 & 17 December. If you are unable to make either date, you can let us know by ticking a box in the 'Additional Details' tab of your application form. We will arrange alternative interview appointments in the new year for those who can't make it before Christmas.
What do I bring to an interview appointment?
BHASVIC will detail this in your invitation email. You will need to bring your passport and latest school report that shows predicted grades or mock results. If you don’t have any mocks for Year 11 yet, please bring the last mocks you completed in Year 10, plus any predicted grades.
What happens at an interview?
You will have a chat with a member of BHASVIC staff and discuss your application. This can include asking why you want to study these subjects, and how you will apply them to your future plans. You don’t have to know the answer to these questions, but it is helpful to know that you have thought further than why it benefits you right now.
How long is a BHASVIC interview?
It should last no longer than 15 minutes for your appointment. However, you may have to wait briefly if you arrive early. We would advise allowing for 10 minutes for your appointment
What if my mock/predicted grades aren’t high enough for the courses I want to study?
If you haven’t achieved mock/predicted grades that meet the entry requirements for one or more of your chosen courses, the interviewer will discuss this with you and ask you to choose a different course. The option to choose will be given at the interview, but you can go away and think about this further at home before making a decision. However, your application cannot be processed until three courses have been selected. You must also have the grades to meet the entry requirements of these new courses. Have a backup course in mind if you are worried about this.
I’ve had my interview. Do I need to do anything?
Yes. Your interviewer will have told you what your next steps are. If you are a ‘B&H’ applicant, you will receive an email from BHASVIC in the new year (if you interviewed on 16 or 17 December). You must complete the form to confirm you wish to accept your conditional offer. If you don’t accept your offer or forget to action this, your offer will be withdrawn. If you are a Sussex applicant, you will receive an email detailing next steps and when to expect to hear about a possible conditional offer. Sussex applicants should receive an offer, or an email confirming a place on the priority waiting list by the February half-term.
