BHASVIC Media department were thrilled to welcome Lloyd Embley

On Wednesday 29th January the BHASVIC Media department were thrilled to welcome Lloyd Embley, group Editor-in-chief of Reach plc, Britain’s biggest news publisher, to give a talk with Q&A to about 40 Media Studies students. Lloyd offered us a fascinating, entertaining, and incredibly useful insight into the world of print news, touching on key topics which our students have to address in their media studies exam, such as the impact of digitalisation and how the ideological perspectives of different newspapers can target different audiences. He also told us about his role in creating the Trump election front cover of the Daily Mirror, which is a set text for our current A2s, and he was so engaging that the talk went on way beyond the allotted hour! We are very grateful to Lloyd for giving up his precious time to come and engage with our students, and we hope that he may come back again one day. #BeMoreBHASVIC
