Black History Month - Drama to watch - Former BHASVIC student Miranda Mufema

Media and Performing Arts ran a theatre trip to the Royal Court, to see the then aspiring playwright, Debbie Tucker Green. We have constantly used her work as stimulus material with our students. Miranda Mufema was particularly inspired by Tucker Green's plays; ‘Generations’ and ‘ear for eye’. ‘ear for eye’ has been filmed and is being shown concurrently at the BFI London and also on BBC 2 & iPlayer.

Miranda is now on a playwrighting course with the Theatre Royal and working as assistant dramaturg with Murmuration Arts. Here is a monologue she created last term. It is a verbatim piece of theatre, about motherhood, which she researched in her community. We hope one day we will see her at the BBC too!
