Brighton Period Project

Students from BHASVIC Sylvie and Izzy with friends around Brighton are looking to break taboos around talking about periods, period poverty and raise awareness via TikTok @BrightonPeriodProject. The Brighton Period Project team redistribute period products from the donation boxes in shops and businesses to areas where there is need at Food Banks and Women’s Shelters around the city. Period poverty leads to 137,000 children missing school each year and 1 in 10 are unable to afford sanitary products. The Brighton Period Project seeks to end the stigma around period poverty and provide free period products to anyone in need.

The social media campaign to raise period poverty awareness received a big boost with recent BBC coverage https://vimeo.com/701589276/f4b4820eae
