Climate Action Society organises Clothes Swap

Climate Action Society organises Clothes Swap to highlight that:

The fashion industry is responsible for approximately 10% of global carbon emissions and nearly 20% of wastewater.

It's also responsible for more energy consumption than the aviation industry.

It requires approximately 7500- 10,000 litres of water to produce enough cotton to make 1 pair of jeans. This is equivalent to 10 years' worth of drinking water for 1 person or hosing down your lawn for 9 hours straight.

Clothes can take up to 200 years to decompose. Shoes can take up to 1000 years.
