Film-maker Dylan Howitt visits BHASVIC
Film-maker Dylan Howitt showcased his most recent work ‘The Nettle Dress’ to BHASVIC students. He shared his experiences of directing and editing ‘The Nettle Dress’ and various BBC documentaries. As well as showing extracts from his work, Dylan gave top tips to our students on how to get into the film industry.
‘The Nettle Dress’ centres around textile artist Allan Brown as he slowly weaves a dress from foraged nettles after the death of his wife. Allan Brown, a textile artist, demonstrates the rich symbolism of taking something that is a source of pain, stripping it of its sting and weaving it into a beautiful dress.
