Games Industry talk
Thanks to Lauren and Laura from Activision Blizzard who came in to speak to our students about working in the games industry. Both guests reflected on their journeys into the games industry and provided lots of insight into the range of roles available. They were keen to emphasise how you can use your creative talent in the world of Comms and PR with Lauren explaining how the skills she built through studying for a degree in drama have been invaluable in her current role.
Students were treated to some behind the scenes insights into some of the world's biggest games including Call of Duty, Candy Crush, and World of Warcraft to Overwatch, Hearthstone, and Diablo. We learnt how influencers and launch events help to bring the game to a larger audience and can be a lot of fun! In particular it was great hearing about the airport party to launch Modern Warfare III with Chase and Status.
