Green Jobs and Green Skills Talk

FE Sussex’s Education for Sustainable Development Manager Jane Dickson shared her knowledge with students informing them that ‘Green jobs will not be niche. It is anticipated that sustainability and climate change will touch every career.’ (Quote taken from the Dept for Education Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy 2022). The government has set ambitions for Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and to support two million green jobs in the UK by 2030. ‘Green jobs’ are not just about wind turbines and electric vehicles, it’s about a broader shift to ‘green skills’ in every job and how we look at work itself. Students received advice on planning future steps in education and careers.
