Medsoc talks

BSMS (Brighton & Sussex Medical School) Caroline Ackley, a research fellow in medical anthropology and Dr Khalid Ali, a senior lecturer in Geriatrics and stroke medicine and a consultant geriatrician at PRH (Princess Royal Hospital) visits BHASVIC.  This is the second time we've hosted Caroline Ackley and Dr Khalid Ali. They showed a short film followed by discussion. Medsoc hosts this in conjunction with the film society.

Medical anthropology examines the ways in which culture and society are organised around or influenced by issues of health, health care and related issues. It uses methods to show how cultural influences determine the way in which health, disease and illness are conceived in different places and it studies the role of physicians and other healers and their relationship to one another.

Medsoc hosts a talk from Caroline Ackley from BSMS and Dr Khalid Ali from PRH
