Climate action - Teach the Teacher
On Thursday 12th October three members of the college's Climate Action Society - Eloise, Isla and Ruby - delivered an inspiring 'Teach the Teacher' session to BHASVIC teaching and support staff. Teach the Teacher is an organisation that aims to train students with the skills and knowledge to engage their teachers on issues around climate change. Two of the key themes of the session were the importance to embed Climate Education across the entire curriculum and the need to find hope and positivity when talking about these vital issues.
Eloise, Isla and Ruby delivered and informative and challenging session, giving staff an insight into what it's like to be a young person in the midst of the climate crisis. Staff were encouraged to think of ways embed climate education into their curriculum area with lots of ideas coming out in the session as well as ways the wider college community can continue to be more sustainable and active on climate change. Everyone in the room felt inspired by the session and motivated to take the passion and knowledge into the classroom.
