Visual Arts Awards and Exhibition

After a three year wait students, parents, educators, alumni, and representatives from the creative industries were at last able to celebrate the work of our A2 Visual Arts students at the private view of our exhibition. This was our biggest exhibition to date, with seven studios over three floors displaying work from Fine Art, Graphics, Photography and Textile students. The night felt particularly poignant as this cohort had risen to the challenges the COVID pandemic presented with grit and determination. Many students had chosen to reflect the strange times over the past couple of years in their work, demonstrating the power that making can have on the ability to process and understand complex events. In order to recognise students who had either excelled in their subject, made exceptional progress over two years or had overcome adversity in order to produce their work the Visual Arts team selected nine students to gift a ‘Visual Arts Award’ to. A ‘coffee table’ Art book that related to their area of interest was chosen which they were presented with on the night.
