I studied Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Law and History at BHASVIC in 2001-03 and loved them all. I was extremely lucky to get into Cambridge afterwards, wasted the opportunity and got a rather mediocre Maths degree, and then was even luckier to get in again for an MPhil in Economics, which I was much better at. Since then I’ve done all sorts - my first job was at a strategy consultancy (McKinsey) after which I taught myself to code from books and joined a tech startup (GoCardless) as it grew from 6 people to 120. I left there to cycle around the world (highly recommended!) and then started my own company (Dependabot) which got acquired by Microsoft in 2019.
