Politics Student - University of Birmingham

Previous School: Cardinal Newman Catholic School

BHASVIC Student: 2017-2019

"After completing my A Levels in Politics, Sociology and English Literature at BHASVIC, I went on to study Political Science and Sociology with a Year Abroad at the University of Birmingham. As part of my degree, I spent a year studying at California State University, Long Beach, where I specialised in Women and Gender Studies. This was an incredible opportunity to broaden my perspective, experience life abroad, and connect with people from a wide range of cultural and international backgrounds.

I graduated from the University of Birmingham with First Class Honours and went on to pursue a career in international policy. I currently work as a Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Associate at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna. In this role, I support States in developing gender-responsive, human rights-compliant and disability-inclusive policies, strategies and legislation to prevent and combat organized crime.

Looking back, my time at BHASVIC was instrumental in shaping both my academic interests and my career ambitions. It was there that I realised I wanted to work at the intersection of politics, international affairs and policy -  a path that has ultimately led me to where I am today."
